Victim..

My world was dark
yet I was safe
in my mothers womb I lay
I felt her warmth
I lived in her
from the beginning of my day
a foetus I was, not yet a child
yet in my mind I knew
some day I would see the world
I would be a baby new
the world I’d see
and I would grow
slowly into a man…
and later on when time would come
a family I would plan
alas! For me
I felt a chill
when suddenly my parents planned to kill me
they wanted to get rid of me
as children they did not want
"oh no!” I shouted
"I want to live
I want to be a child
I want to see your lovely world
I’ll be meek and mild!"
No one heard my cry of pain
when instruments tore at me
and in my mothers womb I was slain
now I’ll never be a child
nor the world I’ll see........

Gosh! I am truly speechless..some things are better left unsaid! I have done my fair share of reading poetry and I can tell you that this is the best poem I have come across. There was actually a lump in my throat when I read this..Keep it going! You are going to make it big as a poet..

Wow! You were able to depict the transition from hope and optimism to complete despair so well in these lines..beautiful social message as well! A very different approach..thinking in the first person narrative of a foetus..how do you think of such things? I couldn't take my mind off this poem even after I had finished reading this..gr8 work!

I wish only we could hear the pain of helpless one , the world wud have been a better place to live .....
There wud have been perfect male - female ratio as no girl foetus wud have been killed....i wish we cud hear them ...i wish people are more "human" in traits

But i don't have power to change them ....except to pray ...if that can change ...
